Sensationists

""Sensationists" documents nine performances from To Live and Shave in L.A.'s thirteen-date, May-June 2015 US tour. Included herein: The first five performances, then the seventh and eighth, and finally the eleventh and twelfth. Why the omissions? On four of the thirteen dates, TLASILA and their touring partners [a=Holly Hunt] (the begrimed Miami duo of Beatriz Monteavaro and Gavin Perry) fused into the improvisational unit TLASIHH. Two of those four performances (gigs #7-8) are included in this set. Their final collaboration (June 5th, gig #13) from the Nightlight in Chapel Hill, NC was issued in 2017 via Karl Schmidt Verlag as [r33594366]; it is thus not included here. (See KSV 419 for details.) Unfortunately, the recording of their June 1st set (third collaboration, gig #9) at NYC's Palisades was too distorted to be recoverable, owing to the digital recorder's proximity to a bass cabinet. It was not considered for inclusion in this compilation. (The YouTube video of the New York performance was professionally shot and remains the only complete document of the set. [a=Lucas Abela], [a=Ava Mendoza], and [a=Mark Morgan] joined TLASILA for the evening.) The sixth date of the tour, a May 28th gig at [l=Now That's Class] in Cleveland, OH featuring [a=Aaron Dilloway] and [a=Gavin Perry], was issued by Karl Schmidt Verlag in 2017 as "[r33593493]." (Refer to KSV 416.) Also omitted, the June 2nd set from the Vat in Philadelphia, the 10th date of the tour overall. The batteries in Tom's recorder died prior to the beginning of TLASILA's set, and Mat Rademan's recorder crashed before it could be properly powered down, rendering all of its files corrupt. No audio could be salvaged from Mat's device." Also released as 5 CDrs in hand-folded, four-color A4 sleeves.
