Примечания

Recordings were made during Duke Ellington's 1945 Cafe Zanzibar engagement, which ran from September 12 to December 4, 1945. The orchestra played three shows a night at 8 p.m., midnight and 2 a.m. The band broadcast regularly from the club (probably airing 15 minute slots seven days a week), and the Armed Forces Radio Service transcribed several programs in its 'One Night Stand' and 'Magic Carpet' series. The recordings on this release are drawn from two of those dates. Tracks A1 to A7 were recorded on Tuesday, September 18, 1945. The date shown on the release (November 18, 1945) is the processing date when the AFRS master was made from the broadcast recordings. These recordings were used for One Night Stand transcription #800. Tracks B1 to B7 were recorded on Sunday, October 7, 1945. These recordings were used for One Night Stand transcription #764. Note that Tracks B1 and B2 are incorrectly grouped with the September 18 (aka November 18) recordings on this release, and the date on the rear sleeve (November 19, 1945) is a typographical error. Finally, it is unlikely that Pettiford performed on any of these recordings and that Raglin plays on them all. Raglin didn't leave the band until early November 1945 and Pettiford didn't join until November 17. This error is likely due to the incorrect dating of the September 18 recordings discussed above.
