Track 1-4 produced by Paul Haig at home in 2010 ; the original version [see track 2-5] was released on [m20820] (1981-11). Track 1-5 first recording from 1982 intended for single, NOT the version on [m85015] (1983). Track 1-6 recorded 1983-05 for [m85006] (1983-11). Track 1-7 from [m84991] (1982-09). Track 1-8 recorded 1983-05, previously unreleased. Track 1-9 recorded in 1982 and released on [m85018] 7" (1982-05). Track 1-10 recorded for [m85006] (1983) ; cover version. Tracks 1-11 to 1-15 recorded Spring 1982 and first released on [m443716] (1985-04) [upon which the sleeve of this compilation is based] ; cover versions (uncredited on this release but alluded to in booklet). Track 1-16 reproduced by Paul Haig in 2010 ; the original version [see track 2-6] was released on [m20803] (1981-10). Tracks 2-1 to 2-2 recorded by [a512866] for [r1317292] 7" single (1981-12). Tracks 2-3 to 2-4 recorded by [a512866] for [r2423619] 7" single (1982-05). Track 2-5 recorded in 1981 and released on [m20820] (1981-11); see also track 1-4. Track 2-6 recorded on 1981-04-27 and released on [m20803] (1981-10); see also track 1-16. Tracks 2-7 to 2-14 by Rhythm of Life Organisation but released as [r2256550] (late 1981); track 2-7 was recorded in 1979 and tracks 2-11 & 2-12 were recorded in his bedroom on 1981-08-26. Tracks 2-15 to 2-18 "recorded live on the Dialogue North-South Tour in February 1982 and released on the souvenir cassette / album" [m20843]; "a poorly recorded version of Shining Hour from the same release is not included here".
