Примечания

FAVORITES ON THE DOBRO GUITAR DEACON BRUMFIELD - For many years associated with some of the top names in Country Music, is now featured on many recordings which are in the "Top 10" Country and Western Hits in many parts of the United States. Such popular hits as "I'll Be All Smiles Tonight", "Steel Guitar Chimes", "Aloha", "Deacon's Boogie", "Wildwood Flower", and others, attest to his artistry on the steel guitar. The history of the DOBRO guitar really goes back to 1919, when the oldest Dopera brother invented one of the first resonators for the banjo. In 1923, three of the brothers were custom-making banjos using this new resonator. They invented the first resonophonic guitar in 1923. In 1927 a corporation was formed, and in 1928 the name DOBRO was coined - DOBRO MEANS GOOD IN ANY LANGUAGE. By the late 30's the DOBRO guitars were being made in Los Angeles and Chicago. Due to difficulties in obtaining essential materials, manufacture was discontinued by World War II. In 1961, two of the Dopera brothers, Ed and Rudolph, began making the famous DOBRO once again. Because of the demand for these fine instruments, they are now made on a production basis only - custom built. If you are in a Dobro Guitar [sic], contact Deacon Brumfield, Box 387, Rising Sun, Maryland. Phone 301-658-6955.
