Depeche Mode are putting the finishing touches to their 10th studio album, their first in four years, at London's Abbey Road Studios, with Tim Simenon producing. A single, "Barrel Of A Gun," will be released in early February with the album to follow in April. The single is a departure from the band's normal sound, featuring a heavier feel and distorted vocals. Dave Gahan says the choice of single was a deliberate attempt to do something new. He says, "We had another, more classic Depeche Mode song in mind for the single but, after such a long break, we decided to come back with something more experimental and innovative." - Music Week
