Juma Sultan's Aboriginal Music Society "Father of Origin" boxset is a limited edition of 600 copies, consists of 2 LP's (the 2nd LP plays at 33RPM's on side A and at 45RPM's side B), a CD and a book. LP1 (MTE-54) recorded 11 September 1970, Intermedia Sound Studios, Boston MA LP2 (MTE-55) recorded 2 April, 1971, AMS studio, NYC CD (MTE-56) recorded post 1969, probable location Tinker Street Cinema, Woodstock NY All music & images licensed from Juma Sultan Pressing info: . LPs are pressed by RTI. . CD is pressed by Groove House Deep archeology into a long buried & previously undocumented chapter in the history of the early ’70s loft era brings forth the revelatory Father of Origin (MTE-54/55/56), Eremite’s box set retrospective of percussionist/bassist Juma Sultan’s Aboriginal Music Society. Drawn from Sultan’s private archive of recordings, this set includes two audiophile LPs & a CD, a 28 page 12x12" book featuring previously unpublished photographs & ephemera & a detailed historical essay by jazz scholar Michael Heller
