It was also shortened by editing to omit the chorus that Armstrong raps over the band's stop-time passage. That edit also unfortunately deleted several beats from the transition to the next section. Those notes and the missing chorus have both been restored on track 1 in order to complete the arrangement as played in the studio, and as found on the 45-rpm single release of the tune, Decca 30771. (They appear as index 2 on CD playback.) Five complete alternate takes of I Love Jazz with announcements and chatter can be heard by rewinding 13:22 back from the beginning of track 1 on this specific issue of the CD only, they are not present on the European issue. Tracks 1, 3 and 6 are Stereo, the rest are Mono as originally recorded.
