The uncredited pressing company is derived from the marks of the group [l=AGI] / Audio Graphic Industries, we can find on the runouts. Disco France was the pressing plant of this group. This is the original 1972 French pressing of Transformer by Lou Reed. The matrix/runout on Side A — Y.D. APL 10736 A AGI — confirms pressing by Audio Graphic Industries (AGI), with Disco France as the manufacturing plant. This runout format is consistent with RCA France’s original production identifiers from 1972. Although the Y price code was introduced in 1974, it was retroactively applied to earlier titles still in circulation. Its presence does not indicate a reissue. There are no reissue codes, no barcode, and no updated catalog numbers (such as NL83753), which are typical of later RCA reissues. The label design, mastering credit, and sleeve construction all match RCA France’s standards for first pressings. This version is distinct from UK and US originals but remains a true first French edition, manufactured and distributed in 1972.
