First pressing with black checkerboard labels and 2 3/4" deep pressing ring. "The material on this album was recorded in 1944 on 16" glass-base electrical transcriptions for broadcast over several radio stations in North Carolina. Every effort has been made to retain the original sound as closely as possible, so portions of these shows may be somewhat noisy, due to a slight deterioration of the discs over the 30 year period. Many hours were spent in editing out clicks and "pops" as much as was possible, and we feel the sound in general is excellent all things considered. We are indeed grateful to Charlie Monroe for preserving these fascinating shows down through the years and for making them available to COUNTY RECORDS for issue on this album.
