How To Be Awarded 2 Gold Records By Major Record Companies And Not Be Paid A Penny In Royalties

Sleeve notes state: "This CD comprises two separate albums.The first "I'm No JD" was recorded for the then CBS, which is now a part of Sony. The second, "Rockin' and Shakin" was recorded for a subsidiary of Polydor, now owned by Universal. As a group, we were pleased with the first, but loathed the second. Both were recorded by the group SHAKIN' STEVENS AND THE SUNSETS. The first was circa 1971, the second circa 1972.Both were re-issued when Stevens became a solo star in the early 1980's. Both went Gold at a time when budget albums had to sell at least 270,000 to get that award. Stevens has the Gold records in his collection and I have the Silver discs he couldn't be bothered with. During our long and ultimately successful legal battles with Stevens, we were never paid any royalties for either record. Companies then, and now, refused point blank to pay, setting their legal thugs on us. Said companies and said legal thugs we now challenge -if you don't like this record, then sue us -please. -Paul Barrett"
