Tracks 1 to 4 & 6 to 8 recorded 1967-1968 during The Windy Hill sessions for an album that was never finished. The session also included the tracks Cold Light Of Day and Through The Looking Glass, both with lead vocals by Jeremy Wind ; they were released exclusively on the LP edition. 1 b/w 2 also released on [r7920385] (1968 promo single). 3 b/w 8 also released on [r6511960] (1968 promo single). Track 5 recorded 1958-1963, "a forgotten master that got lost along the way". Track 9 recorded in 1971 for the movie movie [url=https://www.discogs.com/master/592736-David-Alexander-Hess-Last-House-On-The-Left-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack]Last House On The Left[/url] (1972, Wes Craven's directorial debut). Revisited in the score of [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/2219255-Nathan-Barr-And-Angelo-Badalamenti-Cabin-Fever-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack]Cabin Fever[/url]. "My sons did their own version of the song which was also part of the movie." [Hess dates Eli Roth's film to 2004 but it was released in 2002 and its soundtrack in 2003.] Tracks 10 and 17 to 20 recorded 1972-1974 in Germany. Track 10 b/w 17 released as the [r6538059] 7" (1975). Track 19 b/w 18 released as the [m2151649] 7" (1976). Hey Hey He's A Friend Of Mine (The Ballad Of Potato Fritz) is the theme song for the film [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/3748413-Udo-J%C3%BCrgens-Potato-Fritz-Jane-Thema/image/SW1hZ2U6MjY2MzYxMDk=]Potato Fritz[/url] (Peter Schamoni 1976). Track 11 recorded 1959-1961, "my fantasy, a simple guitar voice version". Tracks 13 and 15 are unreleased demos / masters meant for [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/27518-Elvis-Presley]Presley[/url], recorded 1958-1963. Track 14 recorded in 1962, "kudos to [url=https://www.discogs.com/artist/295511-Hugo-Luigi]Hugo and Luigi[/url]". Track durations do not appear on the release.
