Royal Command Performance

Recorded at Brixton Academy 12 December 1986. And G-Mex Festival Manchester 1986. The show in Brixton Academy was The Smiths' final gig. The G-Mex Festival was on 19 July 1986 and a radio broadcast. The name was "Festival Of The 10th Summer" and celebrated 10 years of punk. The Smith co-headlined with New Order. Other bands: A Certain Ratio, The Fall, Cabaret Voltaire, Pete Shelley, The Worst, Wayne Fontana. This is a copy from the "original" bootleg in vinyl (1987). It contains only 22 from the 29 tracks of the primary release and in the album title "1986" is missing. Even the cover is a copy from the bootleg. Apart from the fact that it appears like its made from a copy machine and then re-coloured there is a proof: in the top right corner of the cover image Montgomery Clift has a right angle cut in his hair. This is not the work of a hairdresser but this is the rest of the left bottom angle of the "H" from the word "tHe" in the bands name. On the "original" bootleg cover the whole typography is in white and thus not very good to identify on digital images (see primary release). In forums of The Smiths fans a release of this bootleg in red vinyl was mentioned. If this is existing then maybe with the same artwork as this CD release and may be not with the artwork of the "original" vinyl release.
