The Premiere Of “Gather Me” At The DeMille Theater, New York City, 1971

At Melanie’s instructions to Corinne D Sullivan (Article 27 Music), this work accompanies the “Gather Me 50th Anniversary Alternate Studio Versions” release. Together, both albums pay homage to Melanie’s Gather Me (1971). Said work was released by Woodstock-era songwriter and human rights legend, Melanie, through her own music company, Neighborhood Records. Her success modified everything in the music industry. In 2019, Melanie worked with Sullivan to bring back her company and protect her rights to all her recordings and the songs she wrote. This album was a design concept when Melanie suddenly passed away in January of 2024. Together, she and Sullivan spent time going through every element. Photographs of Melanie circa 2019-2023 were taken by Corinne Devin Sullivan. Earlier photographs by Melanie's husband, Peter Schekeryk, and/or her mom, Polly Safka, and they were handpicked by Melanie for this project and for use on other albums. Songs presented were written by Melanie, except for the poem by A.A. Milne (Alexander Beetle, Track 6), Give My Regards To Broadway (George M. Cohan, Track 1), and O Come, All Ye Faithful (John Francis Wade, Track 16). Presented by Article 27 Music LLC / The Article 27 Music Project.
