Die In Megapain

Limited to 10 hand numbered copies on clear vinyl. Numbering on the back refers to the total edition (/30). In 1988, Tumor released their second demo tape, “No Noise, No Fun”. The band, based in northern Germany near Bremen, primarily operated as a studio-oriented project and was active mainly within tape-trading circles of the punk, hardcore, and noise underground rather than as a live band. Following the release of “No Noise, No Fun”, drummer Holger shifted his focus away from Tumor, prompting the formation of the project Distorted Disproportionation together with members of Feedback Recycling. This project recorded the 67-track demo tape “Die in Megapin” on October 14, 1989, using improvised playing techniques and noise-based recording methods. The title and overall approach referenced contemporary noise and experimental practices. Musically, the recordings were influenced by the emerging European noise and grindcore scene of the late 1980s, including contacts within the Hannover underground. The material was recorded as a continuous session and circulated only in small quantities within the underground scene. It has not been widely documented or officially catalogued on Discogs. Further related releases include the compilation “A Hell on Earth” (1990, Gelldegel Products) and the “Shitsausage” sampler (1990, Skum Tapes, Sweden), both containing material connected to Distorted Disproportionation. Despite indirect references, the existence of “Die in Megapin” remained largely undocumented for decades and was not actively promoted or officially announced at the time of its creation.
