This is the "Signed One Step Test Pressing LP": ABOUT THESE 1-STEP TEST PRESSINGS Like we did for "Keepers of the Eastern Door", Analog Tone Factory is pleased to offer "Stand Up!" as both a traditional 3-step pressing and a limited numbered 1-step pressing. The 1-step process removes some mechanical steps usually used to press records in great numbers, and requires more lacquers from the cutting engineer. It essentially converts a lacquer into a stamper. For this reason, we got several lacquers cut back to back by Bernie Grundman. The test pressings you got are made from two different lacquers. There is always some degree of lacquer variation from one lacquer to another, and, when auditioning the test pressings, for this record, I found myself consistently preferring side A on test pressing set 2 (made from lacquer 2) and side B on test pressing set 1 (made from lacquer 1). I thus asked the pressing plant to use those specific sides to make the production run of 1-steps, and decided not to use the other sides. As sending you any one version of the test pressings would not be reflective of the production run - and I definitely wanted you to have test pressings that would correspond to the production run - I am sending you both sets of test pressings, so you have the sides | prefer between the two test pressings. I also thought the differences might be interesting to you. I am very happy about how this record turned out, musically and sonically. I hope you enjoy the music and the sound!
