Plough

'These are not rock songs. I play electric guitar, banjo and a DX drum machine. They are somewhat drone, a soundtrack for inner debates, or calming incidental music. This is unlike most of the music that you may have heard me play in bands: Swans, Heroine Sheiks, Five Dollar Priest, Foetus, Sugartime or the live bands with Algis Kizys. I recorded these four pieces in 2006 and 2009 at home using a Porta 1 tape recorder. Mix down was done in Sound Forge, 16bit, 44.1 Stereo Wave. I used 2 amps through a stereo delay, with several effects in line. One track on the Porta 1 for each amp, home made microphones on each (thanks, Adam). Recorded one pass onto two tracks, then went back and recorded two more tracks with another instrument or feel. Plough 1 and 4 have guitar on both passes. Plough 2 has a DX drum machine as the second pass. Plough 3 is Banjo and fretless Flying V. Plough 3 was used by Gabriella Barnstone's dance/theater group, El Gato Teatro, in their 2008 production of 'Heistman' at The Ohio Theater in NYC. Each cd comes in a plastic sleeve with a printed insert, I will sign and date each insert. This is homemade all the way.'
