The King's Messengers

Meet the King's Messengers We call ourselves "The King's Messengers," because we believe we have a message from The King. We began our music ministry as a local church gospel quartet during the late sixties under the able direction of Ed Woolum who brought the group together. Ray Fant - singing baritone, Pat McGrath - alto, Grover Kahl - lead and Ed Woolum singing bass and arranging most of our music. Ina Woolum was pianist for the group. As we were invited to sing in different area churches we added the fine accompaniment of father and son team, James and Rick Brewer on rhythm guitar and bass guitar respectively. In late 1974 lead guitarist Jim Smith joined the group to make ours a complete sound of gospel harmony. The Lord used and blessed us together until late 1975 when Ed and Ina were led to leave our group. Sue Kahl, Grover's wife joined us as a pianist and together we believe The Lord has led us to continue singing as a trio. We are leaving our service entirely up to him. As doors continue to be open to us we will go and sing his praises. We are singing in and around Michigan and Ohio at the present time. Many requests for records during our travels have led us to this place in our ministry for Christ... we are "The King's Messengers."
