10 Years Of Trunkfunk

Press Release: 2010-05-28: Trunkfunk Records, the legendary Swedish house label established in 2000, is celebrating its tenth year with the release of this superb retrospective, ‘Ten Years of Trunkfunk’, mixed and presented to you by Gothenburg-born DJ, producer and Trunkfunk Records label owner Fredrik ‘DJ Nibc’ Nyberg. Fredrik Nyberg has long been a key player in Sweden's music scene. He was Voted Sweden’s Best DJ of 2003, and ranked #7 in Scandinavia’s 100 Best DJ's Poll in the same year. Several awards and accolades have been collected by DJ Nibc, both for his club nights and as a DJ. Swedish producer Axwell even referred to "RA" as "The Paradise Garage of Scandinavia". Trunkfunk Records has always had a strong connection to Nyberg’s club nights ‘The Eye’ and ‘RA’ in Gothenburg, and during the last decade he has helped to put the city on the map with international guests such as Justice, Chromeo, Carl Craig, Danny Krivit, M.A.N.D.Y. Switch, Radioslave, and Wiley performing. Trunkfunk Records quickly became one of Sweden’s most in-demand independent labels with releases from Stuffa, The Touch, David Ekenbäck, Tyken and Trevor Loveys, and remixes from influential artists like Jesse Rose, John Dahlbäck, Ramon Tapia & DJ Assault. ‘Ten Years of Trunkfunk’ successfully showcases both the underground sound of Gothenburg and DJ Nibc’s supreme A&R skills, which have earned the label support from the likes of DJ Koze, Roger Sanchez and Annie Mac. Trunkfunk releases always include collector's item vinyl with artwork (covers, picture discs etc) from top-notch designers and some of these are featured on this compilation’s eye-catching artwork. ‘Ten Years of Trunkfunk’ features tracks like; ‘A Million Secrets’ included by DJ T.’ in his recent mix for the famed Fabric series. A new unreleased edit of ‘Every Word’, an across-the-board success that topped DJ charts and radio playlists around the globe. ‘Breathe’ - Trunkfunk’s latest release - already huge with DJ’s like Deetron, Slam, The Advent, & Timo Maas.
