With this latest single, we see the German producer bringing the heat with a smooth, funked up cut full of character and nuance… ‘Go Brooklyn’ kicks off with an infectious b-line and organic-sounding percussion. The vibe is established from the very first few notes, the drums skipping and shuffling in tandem with the funky low end. A layer of vocal clips add a human element, Butch cleverly utilising the samples to complement the beats. A brief breakdown launches us into the main body of the track, with increased velocity and an intermittent guitar strum adding intensity to the cut. Midway through an extended breakdown creates space to breathe a little, while Butch builds the tension masterfully, while a sample of a crowd chanting ‘Go Brooklyn, Go Brooklyn’ adds to the anticipation.
