I can remember as an 18 year old, this great club I would to go religiously every Sunday night called "Da Gamas" in Carlton. The crowd would line up and extended to almost 500 metres by the opening time of 6pm. Yes that's right! 6 p.m. not midnight or 2 a.m. as we are used to these days! What a sight it was with the great fountain in the middle of the room and who could forget Antonio Rodrigues on the Congas! It was a great part of the golden era of clubs.
