Insert text: "Dirty Water: The Birth Of Punk Attitude aimed to show punk didn't just manifest in 1975 at CBGBs, 1976 year zero London or even the first time Suicide used the workd 'punk rock' on one of their 1970 flyers. Every track was there for a reason, whether through personal experience or just something which [illegible] me up in the years before the 1976 revolution, whether obvious inclusions such as the Dolls, Stooges and MC5 or more leftfield creations which I believed deserved to be highlighted. Reactions were unbelievably positive and it was heartening to see how many appreciated that Dirty Water wasn't supposed to be any kind of definitive punk thesis, more trying to show how the age-old attitude which shaped it could not be confined to any one time, place or big bang."
