FROM MIKE CLARK, 335 SYDENHAM ROAD, SE26 01-650 2999 Dear Martel Thank you for letting me hear the mastertapes of your latest record before you start pressing, it's magic. To tell the truth, when I heard through the grapevine that you were working on a soul album, I was doubtful if you could do it. It's one thing to sing reggae, even if you do write the words and music yourself, but to express feelings and ideas with such tuneful sounds at the same time takes a lot of talent, which you have obviously got. I am not sure which is my favourite track of these ten soul ballads.'Memories of You' seems to linger in my mind although 'Sincerely' has the greater message and an inner balance which belies the spontaneity of the composition. I am sure that this record will be an even greater success than 'Sunny Soil', and I wish you all the best with it. Sincerely yours (what a title) Mike Clarke
