Third [Test Pressing Edition]

Original 1975 test pressings, signed by Jody Stephens and mastering engineers Larry Nix and Ardent’s John Fry, five copies of which were supposedly randomly bundled with copies of the regular [r2831232]. Included inside the box is a typed letter on embroidered paper that says: Congratulations Lucky Number (x) of 5! You are now the owner of an extremely rare, highly sought after, original test pressing of Big Star's Third. As you've no doubt noticed, Jody Stephens of Big Star, Larry Nix of L. Nix Mastering Located at Ardent Studios and John Fry of Ardent Studios have all signed this original test pressing. These were originally made in 1975 to try and solicit a record deal for the album. As you probably know, no deal materialized. Some writers and some record executives back in the day received copies and that was that. A couple hundred were produced, no one knows how many still exist, but you ... you lucky, lucky person, are now holding one in your hands.
