Примечания

From the rear tray insert: “A collection of unreleased songs and rarities from the Stardust era.” Track 2 is misidentified in the booklet and on the rear tray insert as "Lightning, Frightning": Track 5 is misidentified in the booklet and on the rear tray insert as "Holy, Holy". Track 13 is misidentified in the booklet and on the rear tray insert as "Oh, You Pretty Things". Track 16 is misidentified in the booklet and on the rear tray insert as "White Heat - White Light". Track 19 is misidentified in the booklet and on the rear tray insert as "Jean Genie". From the booklet: (Track 1) “An early demo version with alternate lyrics recorded at Haddon Hall, Beckenham, Kent in April, 1970. A later version appears on "The Man Who Sold The World" album.” (Track 2) “The full-length, unedited and unmixed demo recorded in May, 1970 at Advision Studios, London. Recorded during "The Man Who Sold The World" album sessions.” (Track 3) “Recorded at Haddon Hall, Beckenham, Kent in May, 1970 this is a demo of a song David wrote when he was 16. The lyrics were later resurrected for the song "It's No Game" on the "Scary Monster" album in 1980 along with the musical structure of the chorus. Again, this track is from "The Man Who Sold The World" album sessions.” (Track 4) “An alternate mix recorded at Trident Studios, London, June, 1970 and mixed in August. Taken from an acetate, this is one minute shorter than the album version. From "The Man Who Sold The World" sessions of course!” (Track 5) “This is the original version recorded by The Hype at Trident Studios, London in June, 1970. This is a mono mix taken from an acetate. This song was later re-recorded in a superior version by the Spiders.” (Track 6) “Recorded at Haddon Hall, Beckenham, Kent in March, 1971. A song written for the "Hunky Dory" album, but dropped and offered to other artists.” (Track 7) “"Wake up Mr. Bowie, we’re ready to roll." A breakdown in communication leads to this aborted first take during the "Hunky Dory" sessions at Trident Studios, London in March, 1971. Preserved for eternity on acetate.” (Track 8) “This was the A-side of the unissued second single recorded by Arnold Corns. It was recorded on the 17th of July, 1971 at Trident Studios in London and features Freddi Burretti on lead vocals.” (Track 9) “This is the B-side of the unissued second single recorded by Arnold Corns. It was recorded, along with the two tracks from their first single, at the Radio Luxembourg Studios in London in April, 1971. Again, Freddi Burretti takes lead vocals and Mick Ronson provides classic lead guitar.” (Track 10) “A rejected and unfinished song from the "Ziggy Stardust" album sessions recorded at Trident Studios, London during September, 1971.” (Track 11) “Another attempt at this Bowie original recording during the "Ziggy Stardust" sessions at Trident Studios, London during September, 1971.” (Track 12) “Recorded on the 11th of January, 1972 at Studio T1 in Shepherds Bush, London. This is an unbroadcast mono mix made for BBC Transcription Services AM radio transmission.” (Tracks 13 to 15) “Recorded for the BBC TV programme "The Old Grey Whistle Test" at the BBC Television Studios in London on the 8th of February, 1972. Rumours abound that superior studio takes, recorded at Trident Studios, of tracks 13 and 14 were overdubbed prior to broadcast. Track 15 retains the original "live in the studio" soundtrack.” (Track 16) “Complete and unedited, this version of the Velvet Underground classic was recorded at Maida Vale Studio No.4 in London on the 16th of May, 1972. A warm-up version with ad-libbed lyrics.” (Track 17) An unfinished song recorded for the "Aladdin Sane" album, but dropped in favour of "Lady Grinning Soul". This was recorded in New York in October, 1972. Part of the song was later used as "Candidate" on the "Diamond Dogs" album.” (Track 18) “Also recorded in New York in October, 1972, this is another song dropped from "Aladdin Sane" due to the success of the Mott The Hoople version. This is the finished mix and edit completed by David and Ken Scott at Trident Studios in London and taken from a 7" acetate.” (Track 19) “Recorded live at the Hammersmith Odeon, London on the 3rd of July, 1973, with special guest Jeff Beck on guitar and featuring David on harmonica as the band slip into The Beatles' "Love Me Do".” (Track 20) “Complete and unedited. Recorded at the last Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars show at the Hammersmith Odeon, London on the 3rd of July, 1973. A shock for the audience, and an even bigger shock for the Spiders who knew nothing of David’s decision!” Track durations do not appear on this release. Standard clear jewel case release including an eight page booklet and a two-sided rear tray insert.
