Recorded at WOR Studios New York City on October 15, 1947 (#1-6), October 24, 1947 (#7-16) and November 21, 1947 (#17-21). All transfers from the original lacquer discs to digital were made at 24-bit resolution. These are mono recordings. The original LP mixed various sessions in incomplete form. This CD reissue presents the music of each session as it was recorded and in complete form. The cover of this CD uses the artwork from the original Blue Note 10" LP release. All titles have previously been issued on CD 81510 using the 12" LP cover art. This edition was newly remastered in 2001.
