"Behind the Beat" (also called "Behind the Beat: Hip Hop Home Studios" inside the cover) is a 156-page hardcover book written by [a2973063] (here as [a973847]) and featuring a 14-track limited edition mix CD by [a227209] in an envelope, affixed to the inside back cover of the book. The CD has "For promotional use only" written on the disc face. Track 2 taken from [m136533]. Track 5 taken from [m423139]. Track 6 taken from [r6830073]. This is the first edition of the book. There is a later printing of the book (circa 2006) that includes a different disc in the back pocket: [r3966414]. Except taken from Google Books: The revealing photographs found within the pages of Behind the Beat expose the creative spaces of top DJ's and music producers from the UK and US. This book is an open invitation to step into the private world of the hip hop home studio and discover its inner workings.
