'It's The Irish In Me" was recorded at Saga Records studio in Swiss Cottage. We had rehearsed for a week before the session, because we knew we had one afternoon only to get the album 'in the can'. Fourteen tracks were recorded 'live', all playing, all singing, no drop-ins or overdubs, back to the top for another take if mistakes occurred. Dave Moses played Bass, no 'dots', he had a great ear! Saga had thoughtfully provided a quantity of beer which added to the 'atmosphere'. The session lasted about four hours...fourteen tracks in four hours! We received a cash payment at the end of the session. Job done, we retired to a nearby pub where we introduced to James Ellis (remember Z-Cars?). All drinks were on James the entire evening. We finished up at Les Cousins, from where, due to our extreme inebriation, we were ejected! ---from notes by Nigel Paterson 2012
