The Friends Of Eddie Coyle

This record was issued to radio stations to promote the 1973 Paramount Pictures movie, "The Friends of Eddie Coyle." Side A begins with a Q&A between the film's star, Robert Mitchum, and interviewer, Dick Strout. The concluding tracks on both sides are the same interview repackaged in an "open-ended" format which allows for local radio personalities to "interview" Mitchum instead. The LP includes a printed script of the interview questions to be read live on-air as cues for Mitchum's pre-recorded answers. The record also features two stand-alone quotes by Mitchum, excerpted from the interview along with suggestions on the back cover as to which of the tracks would be best suited for different station formats (see photo).
