Four Factory Records

A compilation of The Durutti Column's first four albums plus two additional discs. Box is 190mm square (7 3/4") and 60mm deep (2 3/8"). Discs are stored in individual solid color glossy cardboard mini-sleeves without artwork (just title printing on back), and are all packed in a plain white square sealed envelope with an individual handwritten number, 'x' of 1175. Also included are 9 card inserts sized to fit closely in the box, 5 of which contain printed interviews with people associated with the release, and 4 are single-sided reproductions of original album art from the included reissues. Track durations are not printed on the release, aside from 1-7, 1-9, and 5-5. Notes on [m=6369] Both the first (Sandpaper sleeve) and second (Black sleeve) vinyl issues of "The Return of The Durutti Column" (FACT 14) feature 9 tracks with the last track being listed as "In D" with a track timing of 2:25. This track is alternately called "Sketch For Winter (mix)" but is never listed as such. / When "The Return of..." was reissued for the first time on CD for "[r=501206]" 4CD box set (FACD 224) the track was still titled "In D" but the track timing became 4:12. This is because that version comprises an initial track of approx 1:40 which we shall call "In D" followed by "Sketch for Winter (mix)". / To further complicates [sic] matters, when "The Return of..." was reissued again (as FACDO 14), as part of the [l37137] series of Durutti reissues of the 8 main Factory Records albums, the short 1:40 version of "In D" is included as Track 5 on its own where it is included in place of "Beginning". / This new remastered issue aims to provide a CD version of the original vinyl release. To that end, the version of "In D" which is presented on the CD is the 2:25 version from the Sandpaper and Black sleeve vinyl versions. It's just that "In D" is really "Sketch for Winter (mix)". 6-4 is listed as 'Mercy Theme', but is actually 'Pauline'.
