Live at the Open Door, New York, Sunday, July 28, 1953 This set contains all known tracks from Bird's long unavailable July 26, 1953 performance at the Open Door in New York. Preserved by his wife Chan with the portable tape recorder he had given her as a gift, the sound quality is, as expected not perfect. In addition, only Bird's solos, the opening and closing melodies, and sections where the musicians trade fours were taped. However, Parker is heard here in top form and the program includes some tunes that he only rarely recorded, such as " I Cover the Waterfront", "Just You, Just Me, "The Song Is You" and "I Remember You".
