As Cinecyde recorded and mixed this album over a period of time, our bass player of many years, Chris Gerard, passed away unexpectedly. Chris was more than just a guy who showed up to fill an empty space with sound. Hew was our little brother who joined us as a young art-prog of 17. He was an epic storyteller who knew everything about monster movies, the theatrical joy of wrestling and how to put together contemporary art from bits of nearly nothing. Chris played and recorded on most of these songs and his contributions are a bright hot spark too fast extinguished, much like Chris himself. While Chris stepped away on what we expected was a temporary hiatus, our long-time friend and veteran Detroit musician, Skid Maex, stepped in. And in the past year, we are pleased that Skid became a member of Cinecyde and helped complete this album. And there you have it. Play this one loud.
