Merry Christmas From Northwest Labor

The Seattle Brass, founded in 1972, performs a wide variety of music for many different events. The ensemble performs many formal and informal concerts in the Seattle area and around the Northwest as well as incidental music for commercial events. In 1982, the Seattle Brass toured Central and South America through the sponsorship of the United States Information Agency. The group resented more than 30 performances during a five week tour. The ensemble has been in residence at the Marrowstone Music Festival since 1984 where the group coaches student ensembles and presents open rehearsals, workshops, and concerts. The members of the Seattle Brass are active performers and teachers in the Seattle area. They appear with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, and show orchestras. Individually they hold teaching positions at several of the major universities in the Puget Sound area. Richard Pressley - Trumpet Richard Werner - Trumpet Richard Reed - French Horn Mark Williams - Trombone Richard Byrnes - Tuba Pacific Northwest labor organizations have traditionally hired union musicians to perform live for the listening pleasure of their members and the general public. As an extension of this tradition, numerous labor organizations have generously donated their talents and resources to produce this album - a "musical Christmas card" to and from Northwest Labor. The proceeds from the sale of the album will benefit the King county Labor Council Food Bank and will ultimately serve to make the Christmas Holidays brighter for the needy families of the Puget Sound area.
