Let It Be

A misprinted cassette edition of the regular German "Let It Be" album, released in Germany by EMI (& by EMI Records [Switzerland] AG) on Apple Records. This cassette has been manufactured with the usual light blue plastic shell that was the european EMI standard throughout the 1970's and was enclosed in the regular 1970's light blue/clear plastic case with a printed standard J-card, displaying the original tracklist and album title of "Let It Be". The cassette labels, however, do not display the original 1970 album title "Let It Be", instead they depict 1969's planned, but never used original working title of the album's project called "Get Back". The cassette was manufactured in Germany for Switzerland, but leftovers from the production were also sold in Germany with the german J-card and the imprinted new german catalogue number, although the cassette label itself strangely listed its original 1970 german catalogue number once again. Why the unused "Get Back" working title of the originally planned album title was used on the label still remains a mystery to me. In addition the swiss tape also used a variation of the original 1970's UK "Gold Foil“ J-card design, printed by Garrod and Lofthouse (G&L) Ltd., with a re-arranged songlist, different to the one used for the german cassette.
