The original sessions (2) were recorded for the World Transcription Service on March 30, 1944 (11 tunes), and on December 13, 1944, with an expanded group of musicians for the remaining 14 songs. For the last 14 sides these musicians were added: Bobby Hackett, Billy Butterfield, Jack Teagarden and Ernie Caceres. In addition, Gene Schroeder replaced Bushkin, Bob Haggart replaced Casey. Scott Yanow wrote the liner notes. William Cook for Cook Archives made the disc to tape transfers. Mike Stosich for Esoteric Sound performed the digital editing and mastering.
