I Hear A New World

Originally recorded in 1960. This is the first complete LP album release of Joe Meek's long lost '60 album which was recorded in '59 but never released. In early '60 a total of 99 promotional EP sample copies consisting of only 4 songs each were mailed out in plain white labels to radio stations, though more copies are alleged to exist. Since the planned 1960 album containing a full 12 tracks was cancelled and never officially released, this debut 1991 release is the first official release and not a reissue. I can already see and hear in my imagination from the studies I have made on outer space what wonderful new sights and sounds are in store for us. I must admit that most of the ideas on this record were to please myself, at the same time hoping it will please you, after all you buy records for entertainment not often for education. This I hope you will find entertaining and different. There is another reason for making this record, that is to show off stereo, and as you will hear on this record things actually move, and makes it ideal for demonstrating the abilities of stereo equipment. At first I was going to make a record with music that was completely out of this world, but realised that it would have very little entertainment value, so I kept the construction of the music down to earth and wrote tunes that I hope you will grow to like. --Joe Meek"
